Exclusive Interview With Score 24

Check out our exclusive interview with up and coming Long Island band Score 24.

Q- How would you describe your band to someone who hasn't heard of you or listened to your
music?

A- Score 24 is a high-energy pop-punk/pop/rock band from Long Island, NY.  We hear a lot that our music is if Blink182 and All Time Low had a baby, it's name would be Score 24. It's a fun, bouncy kind of music, growing and maturing from it's pop-punk roots.

Q- What makes you guys different from every other band out there?

A- We're a band that likes to have fun on and off the stage. Being on tour is like a vacation to us, yet we all treat it like a job.  Whether there's 10 people in the room or 100 people, by the end of our set people are always repeating our lyrics in their head, most commonly, "I love your clothes, I love you sober."  Everyone will clap when we clap, jump when we jump, and sing when we sing.

Q- What song of yours would you recommend to someone who hasn’t listened to your music
before?

A- The "single" so to speak, "She's A Good Girl."  The music video is available on YouTube as well.

Q- Who writes all the songs? Where do you get inspiration for the songs?

A- Everyone puts their own little piece into the songs, but Paul & Rob write most of them. Inspiration comes mainly from random ideas Paul gets from when he wakes up in the morning, and immediately records to his phone and will begin to develop from there on.

Q- What has been your biggest challenge so far as a band?

A-The biggest challenge this band has faced this far is proving everybody wrong.  There are certain websites and forums where our name gets ripped apart, usually from people who don't particularly know us, or just don't like us, meanwhile like to post as if they're our best friends saying we're bad people.  Anybody that has ever met us or spoken to us know that none of that is true.

Q- How did you come up with the band name?

A- There is no real meaning behind the band name. It's a catchy name that rhymes.  The band was formed back when most of the members were still in high school, and the band wasn't a serious endeavor.  It was like "hey, let's start a band and do whatever we want because we don't care" and the name has really stuck ever since. It's a love/hate relationship.

Q- What has been your favorite show to play and why?

A- Bamboozle 2010 at the Meadowlands in New Jersey was insane. SO many people came out to support us, and we played better then we probably ever have. It was a beautiful day, and our friends, family and fans showed all their support out there for us and really drove us to put on one hell of a show

Q- How do you get pumped up for a show?

A- You'll usually all find us with our headphones in and ipods on listening to music that really just pumps us up.

Q- What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about performing?

A- We really like to feed off of crowd reaction. It's very rewarding to see people who have never seen you play before, or people who have been seeing you play every single time since day one, really get into the music and you're playing and show they really care.  Least favorite thing of performing is loading our equipment out afterwards.

Q- Who is someone you would like to tour with?

A-To name a few: New Found Glory, Blink 182, Honor Society

Q- Out of all the songs you've recorded/written which is your favorite?

A- The one we always hear most about is "She's A Good Girl"

Q- What do you hope Score 24 is doing/accomplishing in a year?

A- We just hope to be on the road full-time. We're all doing what we love with people we love. The more the merrier.

Q- Do you have any advice for someone who wants to pursue a career in music?

A- Don't give up. There's a lot that comes with the job, and it can be stressful most of the time. However, the harder you work the more it'll pay off in the end.

Q- What has been your weirdest experience with a fan?

A- The first time somebody came up to us at an out-of-state show with pictures of us everywhere asking us to sign them. Wasn't weird, just kind of shocking.

Q- Who first inspired you to go after your dreams of music?

A- Blink 182 is a big influence for the majority of members in this band.

Q- What yearbook superlative would you vote each member of your band?

A- * Rob would be "Most Likely to Break it Down on the Dance Floor" (which he did win in high school)
     * Paul would be "Most Likely to Fall Down a Well" (he's kind of clumsy)
     * Joey would be "Cutest Boy in School" (for obvious reasons)
     * Tom would be "Best Hair" (again, obvious reasons)
     * Ryan would be "Most Likely to Suceed" (boys a genius)

Q- What’s one quote or lyric that inspires you most?

A- Hard to find just one thing. We're all really into music that has meaning behind it. Bands that are out there to give off a positive message to people they are going to influence.

Q- What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

A- * Rob: I want to be a teacher.
     * Paul: I'm starting my own clothing line
     * Joe: Really into older music, such as The Beatles
     * Tom: Baseball player
     * Ryan: Likes to skateboard

Q- Any upcoming plans in the works for Score 24 we should know about?

A- We're on the road with EleventySeven right now, headed out in November with School Boy Humor (Vagrant Records) & outRAGEus! and out in January with So Contagious & Giants at Large.

Q- Anything else you’d like to include about Score 24?

A-Without all of you, Score 24 would be nowhere. Thank you<3
