Twisted Mystery

Samantha Hayes' book What You Left Behind tells the story of a town plagued with deaths of young people. Through the story we follow Lorraine, a detective on vacation visiting her sister, and Freddie, Lorraine's sister's son, to find out that the deaths weren't just creepy because they were deaths, but because there was something more sinister behind the series of deaths.  

Overall I really enjoyed this novel. I don't read a lot of mysteries or thrillers so this book was a good change of pace for me. I really liked the challenge of having to organize the characters and events in my head as I was reading the tale, almost as if I was the detective for the novel. Just when I thought I had figured out the answer to the mystery- boom- something would happen to change my perception of the story. In true mystery form there were continuous twists and turns right up to the very end. 

This book will leave you satisfied- as long as you bring your thinking cap for following the story.
